Just because your vehicle was repossessed doesn't mean you don't have to pay for your wheels. That's like me buying some wheels from you giving you money when I got paid.

I mean if my car was repossessed would you want me to tell you sorry bro I'm not gonna pay you anymore I am not gonna pay for something I no longer have?? Your in the wrong it's not their fault...

They keep giving different payoff amounts

So what should have started as a pretty standard transaction has turned into a nightmare. I got a set of rims and was making more than the minimum payment for a while, I then went to just making the minimum payment for a few months. I had been paying for about 10 months and called about the payoff. I get the amount, and then he tells me, "you really only have 2 more payments and you will have paid off your rims." So I decide to just do the 2 payments instead of 1, as the holidays were approaching. SOOO the 2 months pass by, I check my account and I'm still being charged!!! They told me, "well the guy you spoke with is no longer here and we're not sure what he told you about your account." So I now have to take a day off of work to get copies of bank statements and go fool with these people. I wish I'd listened to the man in front of me in line, but I judged that book by its cover instead of reading what it said. SMH

They continue running my credit card when I have told them I am working to change my banking information

I have called and spoken with the manager of the store located on Buckner in dallas texas and asked him not to run my credit card due to changes I am making at my bank. He assured me that he would not run my card. I have spoken with several employees who also stated they have notated my acct. I was told I would recieve calls if I didn't make the payment on the date due. I told them I understood. On Saturday February 1, 2014 I called and spoke with Ashley. I explained to her I needed to let them know I would be late with my payment. Ashley assured me that she would give "DJ or "PJ" my message. She indicated he was a really nice guy who has worked with others who have had a problem come up. This DJ/PJ guy never returned my call. They ran my credit card anyway. I received an alert from my bank. Now my acct is well overdrawn . Excessive fees are going to be charged and many of my bills will be returned. I do not like dealing with this company. Is it your policy to do whatever you want with your customers information. I'm really afraid something is going to happen with my acct now that your company has my private information. I need answers as to why they continue to run my card when I have asked MORE than once for them not too. They gave me three options to pay. They assured me the only way they would run my card is if I called and asked them too. I am furious and would like a resolution to this issue.

Same thing happened to me. They ran my card without me authorizing them. Now I need to handle by bank issues first.

It's your responsibility to make payments as stated contract that you agreed to just as you would expect the company to do. It is NOT Rent A Wheel's problem (nor should it ever be) for your banking problems.

You should've gone in and made your payment prior to the date your credit card was to be charged. I'm positive the company has a program that runs payments through automatically. There's no way that's being physically done by an employee on the due date of each account. Put yourself in their position.

You certainly wouldn't want your income being interrupted by people missing payments. The "rent to own" business has to charge inflated prices because of the enormous amount of financial loss. I have a hard time wondering why anyone would "rent to own" wheels. I can see the need for tires since you have to have tires on a vehicle to operate it; plus there's a safety issue.

But, you don't NEED extremely expensive custom wheels unless you can afford to buy them. I have a 2008 Chrysler Aspen that I bought new. It had 18" stock wheels. I wanted bigger ones, but didn't need them.

The factory tires just hit 40k miles on them. I ordered 22" 2Crave no. 4's and Falken S/TZ05's this past week. I'm paying the full amount in cash that I saved; just like I did for my Michelin Pilot Super Sports for my Challenger.

The factory tires were horrible by 10k miles. I knew they would be, so I started saving early. Budget and buy what you NEED. Buy what WANT when your needs are met and paid for.

Life will be so much better if everyone did this. We are killing ourselves with debt! Break the cycle.

Once I figured it out, I've never been happier. Debt is stressful and can ruin way more than credit ratings.

Mopar - mama actually they are physically running cards they don't have a automated system.

Guest

Maybe you should not be so *** as to rent tires and rims. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of

Guest

Once you sign the credit card authorization they have permission to run it. So since the cards on file they will run it every Saturday unless you pay Friday.

We are return customers, yet we treated like we are new or crooks. Sometime within yhe week of 1/19,we stopped by to get tires , we purchased n paid 70.00 and was told that they will give one free wk n we pay one wk on the 7th fr there they are aware that we always pay bi weekly. We continue to get call from Alex in the semoran store demandung the payment in such a rude and disrespectful way. We are very dis appointed for the treatment we receive. We've purchase three sets of rims and never received this kind of treatment my next payment should be on the 21st. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Wrong Rims for My Car

Hello,

My name is Alberta Bivens. I am writing this letter because I am very disappointed in the treatment that I received from this shop.

I came into the shop in February to purchase some rims for my car as a birthday gift for myself. I am not familiar with the purchasing of rims so I depended on your guys to give me quality service since they are “professionals”. After the rims were placed on my car, the tires and rims could be seen protruding out from the car a little. The gentleman (the tall heavy set guy) in the shop told me that was normal and that’s the style for many drivers.

With me not knowing the history of protruding wheels, I took his word for it. I drove my car very seldom being that it is my luxury vehicle. The times that I did drive it, when I would drive down the freeway and hit the dips in the road my tires would rub under the car. After several times of this, I checked the tires and there were indentions in the tires from the rubbing of the car on them.

I bought my car back to your shop and showed it to the guys in there and was told that I could get shock locks to put between the shocks in the back. I went across the street from your shop to the auto parts store and purchased those parts but when I returned to your shop I was told that you all do not install them. I asked several people about installing the locks and was informed that they would make my ride in my car an uncomfortable and hard ride. I was also informed that the tires were the wrong ones for my car.

I was told at your shop that the road hazard I had purchased when I bought my tires and rims from you would no longer cover the tires that had the indentions in the side due to the rubbing which meant I had purchased 4 new tires from you but now only 2 were covered with road hazard. I took my car to 2 more shops and asked how I could solve the problem with the rims, being that I could not ride anyone in my car in the back seat because the weight had my car continuously rubbing on the rear tires. I was told each time that the rims where the wrong one. I took my car to Custom Audio on last week and they also told me that the rims were the wrong one.

I was told that your shop only matched the bolt pattern of my car with the rims and not verified that the rims were the correct ones that would properly fit a 2006 Buick LaCrosse. I had to purchase a new set of rims that were designed to properly fit my car so as to solve the issue that I had. Since installing the new rims, I do not have the protruding tires and rims and I no longer have the problem of the rubbing of the tires. I am able to ride others in my car without worrying that my tires are going to blow out.

I feel as a female if you all are only in the business of making a $1 and you do not care about the safety of human life, then you should find other business. When I chose the rims in your place that I liked, I feel that as professional dealers, I should have been told that those rims would not have fit my car properly thus leaving the option of me looking for another set that would. Not only was my life at harm of having an accident if I had a tire blow out, but also the life of anyone else that was in the vehicle with me.

I feel that if you are going to deal with the public and I am quite sure I am not the only female that has purchased tires and rims from you all, you should have the compassion of distributing the correct products for your clients and not looking at only the money value of it.

Yes, they took advantage of you. Even if you said you wanted bigger wheels, they should've informed you on the maximum size that would properly fit your car.

I'm a grandma, but I have been in the car hobby for years. In fact, I just ordered new wheels and tires for my 2008 Chrysler Aspen 4wd SUV from Discount Tire. It had factory 18" wheels when I bought it new. I just rolled the odometer over to 40,000 miles and tires needed replaced.

I decided to go with new tires and 22" wheels. Discount Tire made sure there would be no clearance problems and also called Chrysler to make certain they would not hurt my lifetime warranty because bigger tires will cause your speedometer to be off a bit. Plus, the truck has a HEMI engine that only uses 4 of its 8 cylinders when possible to save fuel. Its called an MDS motor (multi-displacement system).

Chrysler is going to adjust some settings on the ECU so that everything works like it did with the smaller wheels. Moral of the story; go with a company that is reputable and has been in the business a LONG time and check with your car's manufmanufacturer. I'm so very sorry this happened to you. They were looking for a quick sale, sold you something you didn't need, put the integrity of your car at risk, but most importantly.....your life and others.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau and contact the main corporate office of that store. It's probably a a franchise, but it's still representing a brand name of the company. Stay safe and always do your research.

Knowledge is power and your safety shield. ;o)

Account amount always increasing

Every time I ask what the total amount I owe is they tell me its more than it was last time even after I made 2 payments! They tell you they only use your credit card on file after getting permission from you every week to do so. Thos is a lie! They have taken money out of my account twice without my permission both times causing things to bounce and I wasn't even late!! They said it was an automatic payment that had been setup on my account but I NEVER set that up!! Totally displeased with rent a wheel. I will never buy anything or refer anyone to this rip off place!

RENT A WHEEL IN ALBANY, GA

I purchased 24 inch rims from the rent a wheel here in Albany, GA. and the manager has been harassing me so much about $75.00. I do pay weekly and I have never been late and I felt like since I did send something in there shouldn't be a problem. Could somebody tell me if partial payment is accepted or not? Because I am about to go off on this man like for real. If I knew I would be harassed like this they would have never have gotten my business and I will not recommend them to nobody else.

That's just business pay your bill because if you was on the other end you would want your money also.

You know there are other rim shops that do rent to own and cheaper than 75 a week too.

Rims were promised with center caps.

Rent to Own (used) rims n tires looked nice. Jose (employee) said if you buy them I will order the caps for you. I liked them so I got them. Did the 90 day same as cash so no interest. When making each monthly payment I ask Jose, did the center caps come in yet? He said there still waiting for them. After my final payment, since they still didn't have the caps I did't want the rims. Jose ok, they will take care of you. Take took off the rims. They put my originals on. Then when waiting for my money back ($700) they said thats it and you can't get your money back. Then this black guy comes out of the office and said some of the rims have scratches. I said yes, I bought them used. The black guy said no they were new. This black guy just lied in my face! So I called the police to make a report. He said we can't because its private property. So I lost ($700) dollars and they kept my rims. What comes around, goes around. You can bet that!

Why would You return them after paying the final payment... Plus the store can't control a back order item if that was the case.

Not to mention, when you return, your agreement becomes just a rental for the wheels and tires and no money owed to you and no money owed to them unless they are returned damaged.

So you should have thought about that before losing your merchandise and money... Now they're justified to never rent to you again because your intentions may be to steal from them to "get even"...

Sometimes you have to make it go around

WHAT BRAND WERE THEY?
